Spring’s in the air and ow boy we can’t wait for some big championships happening soon!
For both Optimist and ILCA4 we’ve got multiple events and clinics planned throughout the next months. On our website you can find a complete overview.
For the opti’s we kick off summer with a classic: the Nieuwpoortweek (30/06 – 06/07).
Last year’s result showed our coaches know the venue pretty well. Having had 6 sailors in the top10 was a great achievement. Tides, waves and a potential sea-breeze make this one of our favorite venues. During our clinic we mainly focus on these local conditions to get our sailors ready for the event.
A week later you’ll find us in Biscarosse. Not a bad place to be and to participate in one of France’s biggest optimist events. Le Coupe Internationale d’éte (13/07 – 22/07), it will be great to be part of this event once again! Like some famous Dutch sailor says: “Croissant, baguette et du soleil! ”
Then it’s time to cross the channel and compete at the British Open Championships (30/07 – 05/08).The bay of Largs is not an easy venue to sail, so ideally you would want to spend some time on site preparing for this event during the clinic (27/07 – 29/07). Let’s make sure our sailors don’t get discarded by the beautiful scenery and focus on the racing!
Last but not least, you’ll find us in the Netherlands on the Grevelingen where we’ll be hosting a 5 day clinic. Fun and progress are our goals! Find out more about the Summer Clinic (15 – 19/08), hope to see you there to make a great summer complete.
For the ILCA4 sailors we’ve got some great events to offer too. We’re proud to say that since the start of 2022 we’ve an International ILCA 8 Days a Week Team. Transition into a new boat isn’t always the easiest and we’re there to speed up the process. As usual we let other sailors join in with our Team on some events throughout the summer and winter. Get in touch with us if you’re interested in one of them.
We’ll be starting with the Dutch Youth Regatta (25/05 – 29/05) in Workum. A massive event for loads of different classes. You’ll find us on the ILCA course. A day before the event starts we’ll do a one-day clinic to get the sailors ready.
At the end of June we’ll be competing in the Youth European Championships (18 – 25/06) in Dzinów. The championship, on Polish ground, application deadline is approaching fast, so hurry up if you want to be in. We’ll be there for you!
Later on we’ll be heading to Warnermünde. During the Warnermünder Woche we organize a two day clinic before the event. Join us during this Eurocup (5 – 10/07)!
We’ll finish our summer on a high with the Youth World Championships (9 – 20/08). Looking forward to see you in sunny Vilamoura in Portugal for the most competitive event of the summer.
